What does the Steady State Theory say about the origins of the universe?
~ According to the Steady State Theory, the universe has always been basically the same as it is now. This theory is based on the idea that while matter in the universe is expanding outward, new matter is being created so that the density of the universe remains stable.
How is the oscillating theory different from the Steady State Theory?
~ Unlike the Steady State Theory, the Oscillating Theory states that the universe began with expansion occurring in all areas of the universe, and then the matter in the universe contracts.
What hypothesis does the Big Bang Theory make about the beginning of the universe?
~ The Big Bang Theory states that the universe began with a massive explosion of all space, energy, and matter. According to this theory, this explosion led to the formation of an extremely hot, dense universe state, and universe continues to expand to this day.
